Iowa City competing for title of Best Town in America

Iowa City has been named among Outside's best small towns in America. In its fourth year, the contest seeks to find the overall best small town in the country, a place with "top-notch restaurants, vibrant farmers' markets, friendly neighborhoods and unparalleled access to hiking and biking trails. In short, the perfect jumping-off point for adventure."

This year, the towns are going head-to-head, tournament style. Outside has put together a bracket and is asking readers to pick the best winner.

The magazine will crown a winner on June 15.

There will be six rounds of voting on Outside Online's Best Town Ever website, each one lasting five days. Users will be able to vote once per round for each matchup. The winners will advance until there are only two towns remaining. Then Outside Online will host a seven-day showdown to determine Outside's Best Town 2014.

The winning town will receive marquee coverage in Outside's September 2014 issue when it plays host to a writer and an online videographer from the magazine. The Sweet 16 will also be featured.
