Missing Iowa City teen found by police

The Iowa City Police Department has located a missing 15-year-old boy.

Matthew Mayer-Rich was found at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, police said in a news release. Mayer-Rich had been missing since around 4 p.m. Monday when he ran from staff at West High School at 2901 Melrose Ave.

Police said the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls from the public which helped officers find Mayer-Rich. Local law enforcement agencies are thankful for the help, the release said.
