Roesler will give matters thoughtful attention

Readers, please vote for Paul Roesler in the July 19 special election for school board. I first met Paul because he is married to a teacher at my child’s school. I’ve gotten to know him better because his thoughtful, urgent attention to the matters in front of the board has made him a constant presence at board meetings, listening posts, work sessions and community events over the past several years. More so than any other candidate in the race, Paul has a deep knowledge and understanding of where we are as a district and how questions that the Board currently faces will shape our future.

The school board is at crossroads right now, divided on key issues that will shape the the ICCSD in deep, structural ways. Decisions made by this board in just a couple of important matters now will affect the educational lives of literally tens of thousands of students over the next few years. Those decisions need to be made on the basis of carefully considered evidence. Paul understands the daily challenges that teachers and kids face, and he understands that the district’s structures and systems can either lessen or deepen those challenges. Let's vote to keep moving forward.
