Retired NBA star Scottie Pippen's daughter was arrested early Sunday after being accused of urinating in the lobby of The Sheraton Iowa City downtown hotel.

According to an Iowa City Police Department complaint, Sierra Marcelle Pippen, 20, an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa, was arrested about 1:29 a.m. Sunday for urinating on the lobby floor. She then left the hotel at 210 S. Dubuque St.

According to the complaint, the arresting officer located Pippen in a nearby walkway smelling of alcohol with bloodshot, watery eyes and impaired speech and balance.

Pippen refused to participate in a field sobriety test, a post-arrest breath test and accused the officer of being a racist, the complaint said. She was charged with public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor, and public urination, a municipal infraction subject to a $50 fine.

Pippen was released from the Johnson County Jail at 10 a.m. Sunday on $500 bond.

Jason Williams, the general manager of the hotel, declined to comment on the incident except to say: "I can confirm the authorities were contacted over the weekend due to an individual relieving herself in front of the hotel. The person was not a guest."

Hotel staff had reported to police Sunday that Pippen had urinated on the lobby floor, according to the complaint.

According to ICPD records, this is Pippen's second incident at the hotel this month. On April 10, Pippen was arrested at the same address and charged with public intoxication. When officers arrived about 1:04 a.m., they found Pippen arguing with a security guard, the complaint said. According to the complaint, Pippen admitted to being drunk and preliminary breath test results showed her blood alcohol content was 0.141 percent.

Scottie Pippen was a six-time NBA champion and seven-time NBA All-Star with the Chicago Bulls. The team retired his jersey number in 2005, and he was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2010.
