Iowa City police responded at about 11 p.m. Tuesday to Romantix, 315 Kirkwood Ave., for a reported robbery.

A Romantix employee told police a man entered the business, threatened her and demanded money, according to an Iowa City press release.

Police say the woman retreated from the suspect, who grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled. The man did not display a weapon and the employee was shaken by the incident but physically unharmed, according to police.

Police say the suspect was described as thin, white and roughly 6-foot-1. He is believed to have been wearing a navy blue or dark-colored hooded sweatshirt pulled over a ball-cap, dark-colored shorts, and sneakers, police say.

Iowa City officers flooded the area but did not locate the suspect, police say.

The investigation is ongoing.
